Unfortunately we came to
the conclusion that it will not be able to go with a group of 80
musicians to Verona, Italy this summer. The Italian government has
prolonged strict corona regulations until the end of July. For MACO this
means that it will be too risky and irresponsible with such a big group
to travel to a foreign country and giving concerts there. For that reason
we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our tour ‘Musica in
Viaggio’ for the summer 2021.
Of course, the plans for
a summer tour are ready and we will make the same project on a later moment (Probably July 2022).
Nieuw project
Even though our summer tour to
Italy is cancelled, the MACO team has been hard at work organizing a new tour,
this will take place at the same period (2-11 July) in The Netherlands in the
form of a concert tour with the following programme:

Ouverture im Italienischen Stile in C no. 2 D. 591
- Ralph Vaughan
Williams - The Lark Ascending (soloist: Mimi Jung)
- Ludwig van
Beethoven - Symphony No. 3 op. 55 'Eroica'
As you might expect, we are
forced by the corona regulations to reduce the orchestra from a number of 80 to
50 musicians. We have to do this to be able to fit in the concert locations in
The Netherlands where we have to maintain the 1,5 meter distance in the
orchestra.
